Verklaring: Watersituasie in Kouga Die Kouga-gebi Verklaring: Watersituasie in Kouga Die Kouga-gebied staan tans voor ’n kritieke watersituasie wat ons gemeenskap en besigheidsbedrywighede direk raak. Die reservoirs wat deur die Churchill Dam voorsien word, is op sowat 20% kapasiteit, wat ’n ernstige risiko vir volhoubare toevoer in Jeffreys Bay en omliggende dorpe inhou. Die munisipaliteit het reeds verskeie stappe geneem om die impak te verlig: - Boorgatontwikkeling en behandelingsaanlegte is in werking gestel. - Die Gill Marcus Water Treatment Works is opgegradeer. - Vyf nuwe water-suiweringsaanlegte is voltooi, wat Kouga se dam-afhanklikheid van 70% na 35% verminder het. - Waterbesparingsveldtogte en regulasies is ingestel, insluitend boetes en ’n verbod op vuurwerke. Belangrike konteks: - Kouga is sterk afhanklik van Nelson Mandela Baai se watersisteem. - Jeffreys Bay en omliggende dorpe ervaar gereeld wateronderbrekings en swak kwaliteit. - Die situasie vereis gemeenskapsamewerking en doeltreffende bestuur. Ten spyte van hierdie pogings bly die situasie uitdagend. Ons doen ’n beroep op alle lede om: - Waterbesparing streng toe te pas. - Innovasie en samewerking te bevorder. - Bewustheid te versterk deur verantwoordelike praktyke. - Aktief betrokke te wees by gesprekke met die munisipaliteit. Charles de Kock die Direkteur van infrastruktuur by Kouga Munisipaliteit asook Willie Meyer afgetrede Springbok rugby speler. Willie het die gaste trakteer met staaltjies uit sy Springbok dae. Morne en Susan van Tapas Beach venue het gesorg vir die atmosfeer, heerlike kos en dekor.
Op 7 September 2023 het Kouga Besigheidsforum heer Op 7 September 2023 het Kouga Besigheidsforum heerlik gees gevang by Tapas Beach Venue. Sowat 70 gaste het die geleentheid bygewoon.

The Kouga Business Forum held a network function a The Kouga Business Forum held a network function at Mentors Country Estate with Mayor Hattingh Bornman as keynote speaker on Tuesday evening. The private sector is an absolutely crucial stakeholder for the local government. The Mayor relayed an honest state of the municipality and the vision of where they want to be - which is a blueprint of what a flourishing South Africa can look like. It was also the official launch of the Pick me app. Attie Retief the CEO of the Pick Me App made it clear that we must find ways to empower people to try and relieve unemployment.

The Kouga Cancer association held its annual pink The Kouga Cancer association held its annual pink tea on Saturday 8 October in Jeffreys Bay. Kouga Business Forum members Lombardini game farm, Ubuhle Spa and Gabriel Jewelers, and Fountains Mall sponsored prizes for this special morning. Bernadette Swartz from Oasis FM was also a guest speaker with her testimony on Hope.
