✅ Building Plans Re-Approved

We’re happy to confirm that the Kouga Municipality re-approved the hospital’s building plans last week, clearing a key hurdle that had paused progress for some time.

🏛️ Now with the Department of Health

The updated plans have been submitted to the Department of Health (DOH) in East London. With strong working relationships between the project architect and the DOH review team, we’re optimistic that this next step will move ahead without delays.

📊 Construction Cost Planning in Place

A draft Bill of Quantities (BOQ) has been completed to guide the final costing and budgeting for the remaining work.

🔜 Construction to Resume Soon

Once the DOH signs off, a final contract will be signed between Intarox (the developers) and Menlo Construction (the main contractor). This will officially mark the resumption of construction.

If all goes according to plan, on-site work could restart within 4 to 6 weeks.

This hospital has long been a priority for the community and the Forum. We remain committed to seeing it through and will continue to keep you informed every step of the way.
